Paired Personal Training

Mother & Daughter training is becoming increasing popular in Stockton and Billingham and we have spend a long time developing programmes for this. We now do specialised paired personal training sessions for couples, siblings, friends and mother and daughters. These sessions cost £40 an hour. This kind of session tends to encourage a bit of light-hearted competition. there is also plenty of support and motivation during and after the session. Small Group Training

Train in a small group of up to 8 people in workshop style classes where you learn to lift, work with kettlebells and other specific types of exercise. For those who enjoy a larger class environment we offer several classes that suit all abilities. These are a wonderfully affordable option that help develop your fitness and burn calories in some great classes.

Weight is important – but you have to look at your body composition as a whole. This is something that we track and record every week for you.

Most people have a rough idea of how much they weigh. But do you know what percentage of that weight is body fat and what percentage is muscle? Do you know how much harmful fat has accumulated around your organs? What your BMI is or perhaps most importantly how many calories you need a day to gain, maintain or lose weight? We’ll give you a clue, it’s nowhere near the the 2,000 calories a day suggested on most food labels.

Why record your body composition analysis every week?

Sometimes change – particularly lasting change is gradual rather than drastic. By recording the 7 key indicators of your body composition every week we don’t just look at how your weight is changing, we make sure that you are gaining muscle – not to make you ‘bulky’. That’s not going to happen unless you want it to, but because muscle is more metabolically active. This means, that it uses more calories than fat. Muscle is also the thing that holds your entire skelaton together and also makes you stronger and fitter.

Fat on the other hand has far fewer benefits, although it does store certain vitamins and is intended to keep you warm. A fit and healthy woman probably has 25-30 percent body fat. We also have what’s called visceral fat – which is the fat around your organs. This needs to be between 1 and 8 for a healthy adult, but diets that are high in sugar and alcohol tend to elevate this putting people at risk of fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes. This is something that your personal trainer will moniter, and if it’s high, training will help lower it.

Finally, we will show you how to identify unhelpful patterns and behaviours and swap them for helpful ones. Behaviour governs everything we do in life, including what, when and why we eat and train. By making a few small changes to our behaviour you can make a huge difference to your training outcomes.
